AUGUSTA -- Yusef Iman scored 23 points and banked in a 3-pointer late in overtime as Edward Little defeated Bangor 60-57 in an Eastern Maine Class A semifinal game Wednesday at the Augusta Civic Center.

BANGOR -- The Mt. Desert Island girls basketball team stuck to its defensive game plan throughout Wednesday's Eastern B semifinal game against Winslow. Those expecting a shootout were disappointed, but the Trojans were happy with the result and not interested in style points.

H.S. SKIING CHAMPIONSHIPS: Luce, Daigle have strong showings
SANDY RIVER PLANTATION -- Mt. Abram's Emily Luce doubled-up in back-to-back Alpine events and Maranacook's Sean Daigle inched closer to winning the boys Skimeister title during the second day of racing in the Class B ski championships at Saddleback Mountain.

H.S. WRESTLING NOTEBOOK: Cony's Vallee has banner day at Class A state meet
TJ Vallee captured an elusive individual state championship in his final opportunity at Saturday's wrestling state championships. The Cony senior advanced to the championship finals at the state meet in each of his previous two seasons, only to come up short of the gold medal. On Saturday, Vallee steadily built a lead on Westbrook's Harrison Strondak and came away with a 12-5 victory in the 189-pound final.

H.S. HOCKEY PLAYOFFS: Waterville, Messalonskee to face off in Eastern A
Waterville will open its Class A title defense against familiar foe and rival Messalonskee.
